Launch of the Executive MBA Major in Aviation in
January 2008
Jouy-en-Josas, 18th June 2007
HEC Executive Education is launching a new English-language program in
partnership with the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University,
Montreal: the Executive MBA Major in Aviation.
This program is targeted towards managers of the European aeronautics industry
who wish to gain new responsibilities but also managers from all industries who have
great potential in the global aviation market.
The aviation modules which will be held in Europe by HEC will profit from the
knowledge of European specialists. The major will include a study trip to Montreal,
headquarters of the International Air Traffic Association (IATA) and the International
Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), with courses taken with Aviation MBA participants
at Concordia. This will enable the participants of the HEC Executive MBA Major in
Aviation to benefit from North American expertise. Upon completion of the program
participants will receive the Executive MBA Major in Aviation from HEC and the
Graduate Diploma in Aviation Management from the John Molson School of
Business at Concordia University, Montreal.
HEC has for years been a provider of specialized education for European leaders of
the aviation industry. The Executive MBA emphasizes strategic management. The
participants choosing the Aviation major will study the complex mechanisms of
deregulation and globalisation in this sector.
This new cooperation between Europe and North America in the field of
Aviation management is the first of its kind. It will foster exchanges between
participants, professors and industry specialists to better respond to the needs of
aviation leaders—aircraft manufacturers, airlines, and airports—and to the evolving
needs of global demand.
Founded in 1881, HEC Paris produces ideas and leaders that shape the world of
business. HEC Paris offers a unique portfolio of executive education and graduate
management programs: HEC Grande Ecole (Master of Science), 20 Specialized

faculty, HEC was recently ranked the No1 business school in Europe by the Financial
Times (December 2006).
With a highly experienced faculty and five specialized centers and institutes, the
John Molson School of Business at Concordia University, Montreal offers a
complete range of programs from Bachelors, Masters to Executive Education and
