Meeting with Salvatore

Livia ordered the books and we are having them within a month. We posted that on facebook and we will publish a new post when they arrive. i.

Portfolio

: With Salvatore we discussed how communication students do not have a thesis, so why don’t they have a portfolio? We proposed to have a workshop. They will talk about it and the earliest they can organize it next semester. The only other option is that we organize something as an evening event. b.

Website Update

Students from Gazziano’s class have already chosen what their projects are.

Maybe we should hire an advance student and pay him 50 euro? We will talk about it at the ISLC meeting. Gazziano cannot force students.

: have we asked him if he can do it?

: he did not seem to be very interested.

: is it even legal asking us for money?

: shall we email him again and attach Dean Merva?

: No, I think we should say, “since no one is doing it, could you do it?”.

: Ok. We need it before the end of November, the latest.

-> Update next meeting. c.

Library Update d.

JCU Gladiator Water Bottles Proposal

Student Service is giving free t-shirts at the first soccer game. I thought it could be a nice idea to give away 10-20 bottles to help student service? It will also increase students attending the game. It will not affect our budget. I will motion to vote on this later on.

III) General Assembly (10 min) a.

Hunger Run

I knew some people would not come but I am happy for the outcome anyway. Thank you anyway for the donation. You guys all have t-shirts, and the blue ones are for the clean up day.

: clean up day is a student government event, so you’re presence is required.

And it’s at 2pm so that you guys can sleep in.

: Aislynn sent an email to all the people that signed up for the community service.

: can you do flyers? And advertise this by tomorrow?

: It has never been mandatory to attend the clean up.

: no, it is not mandatory, but it would be nice to have as many people as possible, to work as a team.

: you should see events as an obligation since you are part of this organization. b.

Fall Break Proposal Update

Submit deadline for the proposal

: Yeah, sorry we do not have it now

: Can we have a deadline? Nov 13 th .

: ok

: did you some research, did you find out if they go to class on Fridays?

: no I didn’t

: I will give you zoe’s contact. She is the President of the current student government.

IV) TASK Forces

1. Motion for Task Force on Writing Center a.

One board member, 2 representatives for example. We have to motion. I think we will have results very fast. To cut those issues out from the forum report and send the info to the writing center.

“On behalf of student government” after the meeting I will explain something more.

TRANSPARANCY task force: what I have printed does not help us at all. I think what

Harvard published is most voluntarily not that they have too.

: it’s their fiscal report with all breakdowns. It is a lot more detailed that what we have. It would be so beneficial to students so that in the future if school increases the tuition we know where our money is going.

: we need to handle this very sensitively. Very diplomatically. Someone in the administration should sit down and work on this.

: I think what we are asking is completely fair since our school it’s a non profit organization.

Everything that goes in it is suppose to go out.

Oct 23, 1870= Decesive victory of Prussia (Franco-Prussian War)

Oct 23, 1917= Lenin calls for the October Revulution

Oct 23, 2011= 2001 – Apple announces the iPod.

“Before you can do something you must first be something”

-Goethe, Johann Wolfgang Von

: I think they are required. They should show it to us if we want that.

: we should see American and Italian laws so that if they bring something up we can answer with American law . We should have another example, not Harvard. Maybe AUP.

: does AUR have it?

: I will contact Zoe and ask for her email address. I will send her an email.

: yes, paper trial! From the stugov account.
