Concept/Purpose: Projectile Motion
Procedure/Explanation: The drop and shoot apparatus is a spring loaded device that
simultaneously fires two steel balls. One ball is released with zero initial x velocity and the other
ball is shot with an initial x velocity. Neither ball is given an initial y velocity. The time it takes
for both the balls to hit the ground is the same even though they were fired with different
trajectories.
