2012 Alzheimer's Webinar Series October 23rd 5pm-6 (MDT): The Management of Alzheimer’s Disease Laurel Coleman, MD. Maine Medical Center-Geriatrics Goals and Objectives: At the conclusion of this educational webinar, the learner will be able to: o Describe behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia and pharmacological and non-pharmacological management of these symptoms. o Explain how to appropriately educate Alzheimer’s patients and family members in the areas of safety issues, definition of treatment success, and the impact on caregivers when caring for an individual with Alzheimer’s. o Describe the current state of clinical trial programs for Alzheimer’s disease and the likely focus of future clinical research. The evaluation form will include quantitative questions anchored to a Likert scale, regarding satisfaction with the presentation, as well as retrospective pre and post change in knowledge and intent to change their medical practice as a result of the program.
