Track Your Fruits & Vegetables for a Week! Are you eating enough fruits and vegetables every day? Are you getting some from all color groups? Blue/Purple, Green, White, Yellow/Orange and Red? Find out by keeping track of what you eat. In the chart below, each block represents ½ cup. Color a block each time you eat that amount. Be sure to color it the same color as the group it belongs to. (For example, if you eat ½ cup of cantaloupe, color one block under the appropriate day with yellow/orange. Or, if you eat 1 cup of broccoli, then color two blocks green.) How much do you need? Students your age need about 3 cups of vegetables and 2 cups of fruit per day. That’s about 5 cups total.
