Make record keeping as simple as possible. Some ways to help members are: * Have members us a calendar or small notebook to record things as they are done. * Take some photographs of your members in action for their record books. * Take time in 4-H meetings on a regular basis, or at special meetings, to work on records. * Explain both the “whys” and “hows” of record keeping, including the awards based on records. * Make a lists of possible 4-H community activities that your members might have attended to “jog” their memories. Show interest in each person’s records and give help when needed. * Have older members be a “record keeping buddy” and match them with younger members.
