A 10-foot shark devours teen surfer’s arm in brutal attack.
Bethany Hamilton is a teen surfer from Hawaii who comes from a
close, religious family, who all have a passion for surfing. On a quiet
morning as Bethany was paddling in the water, a shark attacked and
almost killed her. She survived and is now helping others overcome
their problems. Bethany Hamilton survived a vicious shark attack in
which she lost her arm. She is currently motivating others with
disabilities by continuing her dream of becoming a pro-surfer.
Bethany is the most inspirational person.

Bethany Hamilton, a young dedicated surfer was on her
way to becoming one of the best in the world. According to the

Bethany’s dedication at such a young age was impressive. She had
a great passion for the sport that was a large part of her day to day
life. “Many of Bethany’s peers said she was too young to
accomplish so much. However, at age 14, Bethany became the
youngest female surfer to win the Hawaii Ridge World
Championship. Journalists said she was on her way to becoming
the best female surfer in history” (“Surfer Girl Makes History”).
Bethany didn’t listen to all the negative comments, she focused on
what she loved and continued to succeed. After she won the
competition, everyone stated to take notice of Bethany’s amazing
skills. Bethany found her passion in life and worked hard to achieve
the impossible.
