Center for Global Studies Supplemental Research Grant Application 2015 All UW faculty are invited to submit proposals for funding for up to $2,500 for travel and research expenses related to projects that will further the goals of the Center for Global Studies, and help to foster successful grant opportunities. Funding may used for international travel for research as well as for bringing people to campus who can help foster the project’s goals. Funding may also be used as seed money to help to foster successful grant opportunities, and expenses related to the grant application process. Special consideration will be given for collaborative projects involving interdisciplinary research groups with faculty from across different units, those that involve graduate student or undergraduate student mentorship, and directly help to internationalize UW’s curriculum. The Center looks to support projects focusing on the implications – from local to global – of evolving international challenges in areas such as: 1) Energy, Water, and Food Security, 2) Environment and National Resources, 3) Economics, Finance, and Sustainable Development, 4) Ethics, Human Rights, and Justice, and 5) Leadership and Governance in Global Policymaking. Research projects addressing other international challenges will also be considered. We anticipate funding 4-6 projects in 2015.
