Tillamook County 4-H Scholarships – General Information

Tillamook County 4-H Association Scholarship - One or more scholarships up to
$500 will be awarded

4-H/TCCA Ice Cream Booth Volunteer Scholarships - One or more scholarships of
up to $100/year for volunteering at the 4-H/TCCA Fair Ice Cream Booth will be
awarded.

Project Leadership Scholarships – One or more scholarships up to $400 awarded
for members who have exhibited continued leadership and/or citizenship at the
county level in their project area, above and beyond participating at fair.
PURPOSE: To aid in the continuing education of a Tillamook County 4-H youth. Money will
be sent to the school of your choice and must be used the first term of your freshman year, in the
year following high school graduation.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Submitted to the OSU Extension Office or postmarked
February 16. No late applications accepted. Awards will be announced at spring senior
awards programs.

SUBMIT:
1) Application, including answers to questions A & B and the essay.
2) Transcript.
3) 2 letters of reference (1 letter from a teacher/counselor, 1 letter from a community
member who has worked with applicant.) Relatives may not write recommendations.
4) 4-H record. Record score from the Tillamook County Fair in August prior to the
participant’s senior year of high school will be used in the scholarship decision.
5) Photo for use in media release.
REQUIREMENTS – Applicant must:
1) Graduate from high school this year.
2) Have been enrolled in Tillamook County 4-H for the past four consecutive years
(including this year).
3) Be planning to attend a college (2 or 4 year), trade school or business college within
one year of graduation.
OTHER INFORMAITON:
1) A panel of 2 to 3 people will interview the candidates including 4-H leaders and
community members.

The selection process will include four parts:
Application (including recommendation letters, transcript & photo)

Record Book Score (from previous year’s county fair)
