A. Course Description:
Integrated 7th Grade Science is a course designed to incorporate various
aspects of biology and chemistry as well as the interactions between them. This
class also allows the students to apply their understanding of both physical and
biological sciences as they discover the relationships that exist. This curriculum
is a modified version of our current 7th grade advanced curriculum. It is designed
to maintain and exceed the level of rigor and enrichment needed for each student
to learn scientific concepts as the highest possible level.
B. Class Supplies
1. Three-ring GREEN loose-leaf binder
2. 3 Dividers
3. Folder (3 holes) that remains in the science binder
4. Pen / pencil
5. Scotch tape to remain in binder
6. Highlighter (any color)to remain in binder
7. Textbook unless directed otherwise by the teacher
C. Classroom
Rules and Procedures
1. BE PREPARED FOR CLASS:
a. Students must bring their notebook, folder, and a pen/pencil to class
EVERYDAY!
b. All worksheets, quizzes and tests MUST be placed in the folder.
2. TEXTBOOK: Students will receive a Glencoe Life Science textbook.
The textbook can remain at home. Homework will be assigned from the textbook
during the year.
3. HOMEWORK
a. Homework can include textbook work, defining words, Castle Learning
assignments, completion of laboratory assignments, projects, and STUDYING.
b. Textbook assignments WILL BE COLLECTED and graded between a score of
1 to 10.
c. Every assignment handed in must have the PROPER HEADING as shown below:

d. Homework must be handed in ON TIME. Late homework WILL NOT BE
ACCEPTED for credit. Three missing homework assignments will result in a
phone call home.
4. LATENESS:
a. Students are expected to arrive on time to class.
b. Being late three times is equivalent to ONE CUT! This will result in phone
calls home.
c. Students must request makeup work the first day they return to school from
an absence. The teacher will set the due date for the makeup work at the time
of the student request. Assignments will not be accepted after the due date.
d. Students are expected to cooperate with all class and school rules.
Inappropriate behavior WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
i. Talking/cheating during exams or quizzes will result in a zero.
ii. Cell phones, IPODS, CD players, PSP’s, and hats will be
confiscated.
iii. Students and parents are advised to check the student handbook for
the appropriate dress code.
5. EXTRA HELP: Extra help hours will be held before or after school on
specified days and by appointment.
6. PROJECTS:
Various projects throughout the year can include:
a. Research on human systems
b. Research a particular disease
c. Creating models/drawings
d. TAG projects

My website is an excellent resource for students to use. NOTES from each lesson
and REVIEW PowerPoint presentations can be used to help students study for
exams. This website can be accessed through the Sewanhaka High School

Studying for tests and quizzes, completing all laboratory activities,
handing in all homework in time and completed and staying
organized will enable you to do very well in this class.
It’s up to you!!! I don’t give grades. You earn them!!!
