Lincoln County 4-H June Neigebauer Memorial Scholarship for Graduating Seniors Application Deadline: March 1st – 5pm The June Neigebauer Memorial Scholarship ($500 award) was established in remembrance of Mrs. Neigebauer in 1983. Scholarships are presented to graduating 4-H members with at least three years of 4-H membership. Selection emphasis is placed on leadership, citizenship/community service, 4-H accomplishments and school records. To apply for the June Neigebauer Memorial Scholarship, please provide three sets of the following: Completed application (page 2 of this form) Up-to-date 4-H permanent record School transcript (unofficial accepted, subject to verification prior to award disbursement) Last year’s project records Two letters of recommendation Personal interview (to be scheduled by selection committee) Answer briefly (on a separate piece of paper) the following three questions (also listed on page 2): 1. List the 4-H projects you’ve been in and the number of years for each. 2. Describe your most challenging leadership experience (either in or out of 4-H) and how your 4-H experience helped you in the situation. 3. Describe the role community service and citizenship activities have played in your life both in and out of 4-H. Write an essay answering the following (also listed on page 2): How has 4-H impacted your life? How does continuing education help further your life goals? Selection Process The 4-H Extension Agent will arrange for a Scholarship Selection Committee with interviews and selection to take place shortly after the application deadline. The application materials are available online to download or can be mailed to individual candidates as needed.
