Kansas State Chapter Operations Plan 2008-2009 Mission Statement The Kansas State University Chapter of the Institute of Industrial Engineers is devoted to the professional development, education, and involvement of all its members, as well as the recruitment of new members. We are focused on supplementing the IE curriculum with services and activities to develop and improve the achievements of IE students. 2008-2009 Goals 1. Recruit current IE students to join IIE and recruit undecided engineering students to transfer into IE through activities that promote our department and organization. 2. Provide and participate in more educational opportunities for IIE members in conjunction with the KC senior chapter and area companies. This goal will be met by providing a workshop for our members and participating in Mentor Day. 3. Be an active chapter in all areas relating to Industrial Engineering in an effort to receive Gold Chapter recognition. Key Dates August 23rd – Exec. Create interest by organizing an enrollment information session, Mentor Day, educational workshops and member social and recruitment activities. Recruit engineering students to transfer Speak in open option engineering into IE classes, send out recruitment letters, and participate in Open House. Offer more educational and Host industry speakers at each alldevelopmental activities for members member meeting, Mentor Day in October, and Management Workshop in November. Attain Gold Chapter recognition By meeting and exceeding as many criteria provided in the Chapter Activity Report as possible through Senior and Regional Chapter involvement. Financial Projection The chapter budget has been approved from the IMSE department. Our chapter will function on a reimbursement policy with all funds being held by the department. We will be in good standing financially due to full funding of regular chapter activities by the IE department. We will fund our Management Workshop using department funds in addition to registration fees.
