Job Description:
TGen North is enthusiastic to foster personal, professional and community leadership in an individual who
has a strong desire to uphold our values of teamwork, leadership, vision, responsibility, growth, and
change. Although an office intern may not don a lab coat, TGen North understands that administrative
functions are likewise critical in making science happen and in successfully carrying out TGen North’s
important mission of advancing public health, clinical medicine, and biodefense through targeted
microbial genomics.
The right candidate will work closely with the Office Manager to ensure completion of clerical tasks. Such
tasks include, but are not limited to: assisting with front office duties such as greeting visitors in a
professional manner, answering light phones, accepting deliveries from UPS and FedEx, reserving the
conference rooms and scheduling meetings for directors, data entry, inventory management, purchasing
(i.e. placing orders for supplies and receiving supplies), assisting with community outreach/volunteer
efforts, completing various organizational efforts and other office tasks as deemed necessary.
Qualifications
 PC computer skills including Microsoft Office
 Highly organized; self-starting
 Strong verbal and written communication skills
 Ability to multitask and shift priorities to complete assignments
 Interest in science and/or willingness to learn new things
Hours > 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Schedule > Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
Length of Internship: Summer 2014
Wage/Stipend: $12/hour
