Tax Team Member
Classification: Exempt
Reports to: Senior Tax Team Member or above
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare tax returns for corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and individual tax returns.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare quality corporate, individual, partnership, fiduciary and other tax returns under the supervision of senior
staff and within predetermined budget.

Understand pertinent Internal Revenue Code sections and regulations.

Knowledge of tax and accounting research methods, including knowledge of the reference sources available to the
Firm. Ability to clearly explain research to staff and clients.

Assist clients with tax data gathering. Sincerely offer help and assistance to clients with tax data gathering.

Develop quality client relationships and loyalty by showing supportive and friendly attitude.

Proficient knowledge of firm technology, including the use of UltraTax, CS Accounting products, ACT, Windows,
Microsoft Office, XCM, etc.

Train and guide new hires in Firm procedures and assist with software use with patience and approachability

Identify other services Firm can provide to the client.

Know and understand the Firm’s policies and procedures.

Familiar with the rules, requirements, and code of conduct of the AICPA, and the authoritative literature
established by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the Governmental Accounting Standards
Board (GASB).

Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
WORKING CONDITIONS


Involves work in the firm’s office or on the client’s premises. Work on the client’s premises may require the use of
the staff member’s personal vehicle.
Moderate to low overtime required throughout the year. High level of overtime may be required to complete tax
engagements.


None
REQUIRED EDUCATION


College undergraduate degree with at least 36 hours in upper-level accounting courses or equivalent experience.
Expectation is that CPA certification will be granted within 3 months of completing the 12 months experience
requirement.
