Job Purpose:
The Deal Desk Analyst Intern is an intricate member of the Deal Desk team and Sales
Operations group with significant opportunities to make a positive impact on the business.
The Deal Desk Analyst will work closely with Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, Product
Management and Legal.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytic background that enables them to engage with our sales organization and help to optimize deals from both a bottom-line and top-line angle. This candidate must have demonstrated ability to build relationships with sales and think strategically and analytically about business, product, and go to market initiatives and challenges. The position reports to the Senior Manager, Deal Desk.
This position is located in Tempe, Arizona and is scheduled normal business hours Monday through Friday. Internship will be through summer break.
Essential Functions:
Review deal financials, pricing and business risk
Ensure compliance with published sales and business approval policies and serve as an escalation point to business leaders
Understanding of discount and margin dynamics and ability to apply knowledge to corporate bottom-line
Ability to effectively communicate with high-level executives, sales persons and internal teams.
Work closely and interact with Finance, Legal and Sales Operations departments to optimize contract terms, close deals and create business policies and guidelines
Ability to execute quickly and adapt to a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
Evaluate current processes and offer recommendations for areas of improvement

Complete ad-hoc projects as required
Provide deal guidance and “Best Practices” to the sales organization in the structuring of deals that are competitive, yet adhere to company policies and guidelines.
Ensure the Deal Desk works effectively with partners and direct sales.
Participate in ongoing process improvement projects to increase the effectiveness of the Deal Desk and continuously improve our ability to respond to the needs of Sales,
Partners, and Customers.
Qualifications:
Experience and Education (minimums)
Pursuing a university degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics Economics or Business
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Fluency with salesforce.com quote tool, reporting, and dashboards a plus
Good communication skills
Advanced Proficiency with Excel a must
Highly organized and detail oriented
Process oriented, ability to streamline systems and process to support aggressive business growth
