THEATRE FORUM
There will be no regular class times for Theatre Forum. The class for this summer
semester will have a seminar format and consist of the following requirements:
1. Read the play or view a DVD of A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams
and Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller. Written copies of the plays can be found
in the LBCC library or any public library. You can purchase the plays at a very
reasonable price at any large bookstore or through online sources such as
Amazon.com. DVDs can be purchased or rented very cheaply through Net-Flix,
Amazon.com, and other online sites. The film version of A Streetcar Named Desire
starring Marlon Brando and Vivien Leigh is the best and most available version.
The version of Death of a Salesman starring Dustin Hoffman is quite good and
readily available.
2. A mid-term exam to be held on Tuesday, July 12 at 11:00 AM at a location TBD.
The purpose of the test is to determine if you have read or seen both of the plays.
3. Attend a performance of the LBCC Theatre Department’s production of The
Third Great Course Acting Show: Julius and Cleopatra and Henry the X Part VII.
4. A final exam to be held on Thursday, July 28 at 11:00 AM at a location TBD.
Again, the purpose of the test is to determine if you actually saw the production.
