BSUFA Meeting
April 18, 2005
Called to order: 3:30 PM
President Dave Larkin: There are two purposes for this meeting. First, there will be an
opportunity to comment on two proposed constitutional amendments. Second, this is your
opportunity to make self-nominations from the floor for BSUFA Executive Committee
positions currently up for election.
Brendan McManus – Chair, Constitutional Review Committee: You were sent by
email two constitutional amendments. Amendment 1 addresses changes in the election
process to reflect the actual process that has been used. The other is amending the
constitution so that we can amend the bylaws. This was an oversight when the current
constitution was written. We are not voting on these amendments today. This is only an
informational meeting. There will be a formal vote by ballot in the near future.
Discussion about the amendments.
Sharon Gritzmacher – Chair, Committee on Committees: The slate of officer
candidates is on the board. As you see, no one has yet self-nominated for the position of
treasurer. At this time, I will take self-nominations from the floor.
Deb Peterson: I put my name in for the position of BSUFA Treasurer.
Dada: I want to be considered for training as grievance officer.
Gritzmacher: The purpose of this meeting is limited to discussion of the proposed
amendments and to self-nominations from the floor.
Larkin: There is concern that grievance officers need training, and training is
periodically offered. I will inform you of the next training session that I become aware of.
Gritzmacher: The official slate of candidates is as follows:
Secretary – Carol Milowski
Treasurer – Deb Peterson
Grievance Officer – Rod Witt
Board Member – Sharon Gritzmacher
Pat Rogers
John Truedson
Derek Webb
Gritzmacher: Official ballots will be mailed at the end of this week. They will include
the slate of candidates noted here, any contested committee seats, and the proposed
amendments to the BSUFA Constitution. Please be advised that because my name is on
the ballot, I will not be counting the ballots for Board Member. The other members of
Committee on Committees will count and certify those ballots.
