TRIO / McNair / Transfer in Charting the Future

Update on the progress of this work group. Pilot transfer pathways that will be moving forward in fall that will
affect BSU include Psychology, Biology and Business; pathways will align lower-division and upper-division
courses and allows for streamlined pathways into bachelor’s degrees from associate degrees.

Reviewed plan for two day meeting – August 11 and 12.

CIO update

Duties have been dispersed since last year. Current plan is to hire an interim in the near future to help while the
search for a permanent CIO. Requested nominations for chair of search committee.

NTC Updates

Program Review proposal
Bob
New process was presented to faculty at June duty day. Would revolve around a 3 year cycle,
utilize external consultants, etc. Requested review and acceptance of this process with deans,
and then work for approval at the college so this can be included in the HLC document.

Proposed one-stop restructuring
Staff position restructuring allowed for more efficiencies of serving students; reviewed process
that has been operational for a few months.

HLC update
Writing team (Andy, Barb Schuppert, Bernie Bryant) are meeting to review each criterion.

Community Education meeting
Looking for space, evenings and weekends, may be interested in using NTC.

Academic Learning Center Project
Colleen
Steering committee has been meeting with architect. Some questions about number of offices needed by
departments. Also concern about conversations related to computer classrooms and labs (dedicated vs open).
9.
Other
Question about 19B money – request to use these dollars for printing curricular materials.
