Human Resources Specialist
Position Summary:
This intern will assist the HR Specialist and HR Department with a variety of tasks and projects. This is a paid internship and
hours will be approximately 20-25 hours per week. Start date and end date will be agreed upon by the HR Specialist and the
Intern.
Projects:
 Ensure professional, friendly and positive interaction with internal and external customers.
 Maintain strict levels of confidentiality including electronic and paper documentation.
 Assist with posting new openings, searching databases for resumes, scanning resumes, and potentially checking
references and processing background screens and following up with candidates and hiring Managers.
 Run training reports from our online Learning Management System for Managers and search the online trainings for
the best options for categories determined by the HR Specialist.
 Develop an Excel spreadsheet of viewed BizLibrary trainings and our rating.
 Put EOT newsletters in Adobe Acrobat portfolio.
 Assist with creating a more comprehensive wellness program by researching, developing, and planning wellness
initiatives for 2014 and 2015.
 Other duties/projects as assigned.
 Projects can change based on the needs of the company and the HR Department and the abilities of the intern.
In addition, this position requires excellent communication skills, independent thinking, sound problem solving and time
management skills. It requires strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Enthusiasm and commitment to the internship is essential. He/she must be able to work independently as well as part of a
team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
 Working toward, or has obtained, a Human Resources, Communications, Business Administration or other related
degree.
 Excellent communication (verbal, written and listening) and customer service skills are required.
 Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills are required.
 Strong office software experience including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.
 Excellent writing ability and proofing skills are required.
 Enthusiastic, dedicated and driven Junior, Senior or recent grad who wants to learn and perform a variety of real world
HR responsibilities.
PHYSICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
 This position requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity and visual acuity to use monitor and
keyboard, phone usage, operate office equipment, read information, verbally communicate and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

conducted.
