Emphasis will also be placed on decision-making and both personal and social responsibility. Students will
learn proper techniques of knot-tying, belaying and climbing skills.
Class Rules: This class is designed for all to participate and for all to have fun. To insure this it is required for
all people to respect themselves and each other. It is also important to respect property and have a positive
attitude.
Safety:
Common sense and concern for each other will help insure safety issues. In regard to the climbing wall-----No
climbing without supervision or instruction.
Grading/Expectations: The main components for grading are:
1. Cooperation-includes classroom management policies, following instructions as given, and cooperating
with fellow classmates.

Being involved is expected and will enhance your class experience.

sweatpants, and tennis shoes. If a student tears their t-shirt or writes all over it, they will need to buy a
new one. Make sure you are prepared for cooler weather with a sweatshirt or sweatpants. The student
should also be responsible for knee braces, inhalers or any other special equipment they might need.
4. Student are graded on written tests and skills tests of various units. Make-up days/absences-if a
student is absent from physical education they are required to request and complete a 10 point make-up
activity slip. The student will be allowed 5 days to complete an activity of their choice outside of class
time. Parents or legal guardians must also sign the slip to verify the activity was completed. Any illness
or injuries that prevent participation, will be dealt with on an individual-basis.
