available other times, but call to check first. Do not hesitate to ask for extra help--those who do
often develop stronger skills. Also, feel free to ask me to meet with you at times that are more
convenient for you. I will be honest and tell you whether or not I am able to.
Textbook:
There is no required textbook for this class
Objective:
The purpose of this class is to develop knowledge and understanding of the field
of school psychology and the responsibilities of a school psychologist.
Assignments and Grading Procedures: You are expected to attend each of these sessions.
Points will be deducted from your grade for each class you miss without notifying your
instructor beforehand. You will receive 60 points for various class appointments and 40 points
for a writing assignment. For a final exam you will be asked to write a short paper with the
following title: “What is a School Psychologist?” This paper will be typed, double spaced with a
12 font size, and at least 4 pages in length. It will follow APA style. All references must be
from empirical journals or professional organization’s website.
