perception of you, you can do this by e-mail or in person:

If your answer is YES, think about other steps you can take to reinforce this perception in your network
and within a wider network.
3) Step 3:
After analyzing how others perceive you in the first two columns below, fill in worksheet third and
fourth columns with 3 or more different “labels” you would like to evoke in people’s minds. In the
fourth column, write the corresponding expertise you can highlight or develop to increase awareness
in how you want to be perceived.

4) Step 4:
a. The experience or expertise you have identified is what you will highlight in your job
search related interactions and documents, like the elevator pitch, LinkedIn summary
resume summary, among others.
b. Identify what other work experiences are linked to the skills or character traits you want

c. What social media tools (and other tools) can you use to promote your identified
experiences and traits in order to be known for what you want to be known?

d. Are there any necessary changes in behavior you need to make? These changes in
behavior are related to those actions that may have earned you the labels others define
you with and you don’t like. To change this you need to avoid repeating these actions or
diminishing the exposure of those activities that reinforce the concept others have of
you. Also, the changes in behavior can be actions/activities you need to practice in order
to be seen as such.
