2nd Six Weeks – Week 5
This Week’s News…
 Don’t forget…we have tutorials every
Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-4:15.

our best to get things moving out at mom
pick-up!
 Not much news this week!!! Hopefully
everyone enjoyed dressing up and going
“Trick or Treating” AND enjoyed the extra
hour of sleep yesterday

What we are working on…
 Writer’s Workshop / Interactive Writing – writing the
letters Pp, Qq, Rr, Ss, Tt and writing a word that
begins with each of those letters.
 Stations – all centers that have been introduced are
open. In small group instruction we are working on
Istation skills such as rhyming, sentence structure,
syllables, and blending.
 Phonics / Word Study – Identifying the letter and
sound for Tt, Pp and Nn; demonstrating print
awareness including identifying letters, words, and
sentences; demonstrating phonological awareness
through isolating and blending word parts; using the
cover, title, and illustration to predict what might
happen next in a text;
 Math – counting, making, reading, and writing 8, 9,
and 10.
 Science – telling about objects; sorting objects;
measuring objects.
 Social Studies – rules and authority figures; similarities
in families.
