We hope all of our grandparents had a wonderful
Grandparent’s Day yesterday!!! We thank them for everything they do for us!!!
Scholastic book orders are due Wednesday. Please make checks payable to Scholastic.

We are using play dough in class so if you didn’t send any at the beginning of the year please try and get your child some. They LOVE to play with it!!!!
When your child is writing his/her name, please make sure they capitalize the first letter ONLY.
All other letters need to be lowercase.
Please work on learning how to tie shoes.
If you are cleaning out your closets/toyboxes at
home and would like to get rid of any kind of
“treasures”, (ex: McDonalds/DQ toys, etc.) I would be glad to have them to fill our treasure chest.
Wear maroon on Fridays!
Writer’s Workshop / Interactive Writing – conveying ideas by drawing and speaking; sharing writing with others in complete sentences; generating ideas for writing.
Stations – reviewing previous taught centers and introducing the following new centers – ABC and
Puzzles.
Phonics / Word Study – orally generate rhymes in response to spoken words; identify uppercase and lowercase letters; identify elements of a story including character; comprehend stories read aloud; understand concepts of print.
Math – days of the week; counting, tracing, and comparing numbers 0-5.
Science – keeping ourselves and the environment clean; exploring size and mass.
Social Studies – location in the school; creating a pictorial timeline of the school day and explaining using time and chronology such as before, after, next, first, and last.

Tip for Reading With your Child:
Encourage your child to read to you. Even if they are unable to read the book, let them tell the story in their own words. Have them pick out words they can read.
