WELCOME TO ROOM 91 Ms. Hale and Mrs.Thomas’ 4K Class ATTENDANCE AND SCHOOL HOURS Our school day is from 8:00-2:30 MondayFriday. Please send a note or a doctor’s excuse for all absences. 5 unexcused absences results in an attendance conference with Mrs. Shackleford, our assistant principal. 10 unexcused absences results in a referral to the district office. Please remember, your child misses so much when he/she is not in our classroom. ARRIVAL AND FREE BREAKFAST 4K bus riders will be walked to room 108 to watch educational videos or songs until school starts. 4K car riders will need to be walked to room 108 and you will sign your child in on a clip board. At 8:00 we will walk all of our students to our room to unpack, make lunch choices, listen to announcements and then go to breakfast. Please make sure your child is in room 108 before 8:00am so we can get your child used to our morning routine. Your child will be considered tardy if he/she arrives after 8:00am. Please be prepared to say your goodbyes in room 108 to make this transition easier. CALENDAR Our 4K students will follow the same calendar as K-5. A calendar is located in your packet. Please be aware of half days. On these days we will dismiss at 10:50. Tuition and Extended Care This 4K program is free but does not provide any extended care programs. Our school day is over at 2:30 but we do have a YMCA daycare on sight and the local daycares provide transportation. Pick up is at the side door. DISMISSAL Dismissal is at 2:30. Bus riders will be walked to the buses by a teacher and an assistant. Car riders will be dismissed at the side door closest to Martin Luther King Dr. You will need to get a car rider number to place on your dash board. You will NOT be able to pick up your child/children without this number. If you forget the number, you will have to pull over and verify your information with our assistant principal. All siblings of 4K students need to come to the side door so you can pick up everyone at the same place. Cars will form 2 lines in the circle and wait for your child/children to be walked to your car. Please be patient while waiting for your child. A safety patrol student will open your car door for you and then shut it when everyone is loaded. TRANSPORTATION We must have a note every time your child has a change in how he/she will go home. Notes may go in the red folder. Car riders must have school issued numbers on the dashboard. Please sign and return the transportation handbook sheet even if your child is a car rider.
