This week our students will gain an understanding of the word
“hero” through literature and real-world experiences with
veterans and community helpers. We will compare and
contrast heroes from long ago and today.

Math: Continue to play/practice the place value games
sent home each week. These games will help your child
have a greater understanding of numbers (number sense).
ELA: Syllables are the parts of a word, the number of
"chunks" that a word breaks into when you say it.
Thursday
Knowing the rules for syllable division can help students read
words more accurately and fluently.
