A5CC BIO CLUB
Bio Club
The Anderson 5 Career Campus Biology Club is an organization that was created to allow students of
any major to become active in the Anderson 5 community. The Bio Club is based upon the idea of
student growth beyond the classroom. Our club gives students the opportunity to meet other students
who share similar interest. While Bio Club’s main focus is on group events and field trips, our club offers
many roles of leadership and service. In other words, Bio Club is a fun way to meet new people while
branching out and becoming involved. The A5CC Bio Club is sponsored by the National Association of
Biology Teachers.
Membership
Joining the Bio Club is fairly simple. Just come to a meeting and if you like what our club is all about, you
can join. You may also email us at shannonmerritt@anderson5.net.. The fee for Bio Club is ten dollars for
the year. This covers all our activities throughout the year (Additional costs may include fees for field
trips.) The ten dollar fee also covers food costs because we like to provide our members with snacks at
most meetings and events. Students who join Bio Club are not required to commit to every event our club
holds. We are flexible and like to allow students to pick which events are of interests to them and which fit
into their busy schedules.
Events
Bio Club offers a variety of different events. We do not like to focus solely on the informational part of
Biology, but instead our club likes to give students a place to come enjoy themselves and forget about the
stresses of school. Events will be discussed and voted on during the first 2 meetings of the year.
Staying up to Date
All Bio Club students are encouraged to join an automatic texting service that the Bio Club Advisor sends
out messages/reminders about upcoming meetings or events. No personal numbers are exchanged.
