SPECIAL NOTE: Addendum #1 information shall supersede the information contained in the
Contract Documents
This Addendum forms a part of the Contract Documents and modifies the original Bidding
Documents dated January 4, 2014. Acknowledge receipt of this Addendum in the space provided on
the Bid Form. Failure to do so may subject the Bidder to disqualification.

Bids due: March 27, 2014 @ 1:00PM
Post bid interview/bid review: Week of April 1, 2014
Selection of successful bidders: April 9, 2014
Construction Start Date: May 27, 2014 (unless otherwise noted).
Substantial Completion Date: August 1, 2014 (unless otherwise noted).
Project Completion Date: August 15, 2014
Housing Opens/Students Arrive on campus: August 19, 2014
The prebid meeting addressed the following items:
1. Schedule: Completion dates shall be strictly adhered to.
1. Coordination of the work is critical.
2. Safety: Zero accidents. All contractors shall practice safe workmanship practices
3. Surrounding areas/buildings will be occupied throughout the project schedule.
4. OSHA Training: Contractor shall provide minimum 10 hour OSHA Training Certification
for workman and minimum 30 hour OSHA Training Certification for Working Foreperson or
Supervisor to Owner prior to start of work. Reference 01015 General Requirements.
5. Hazardous Materials: Contractor shall coordinate all required ACM removal with Owner.
Inspection reports are available in the Owner’s office and will be posted to the MM FY15
website.
6. Lead Materials: All painted surfaces are to be treated as positive for lead containing paint due
to the construction of the building prior to 1978. All contractor personnel working on the
project shall be certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for lead based
paint activities
7. Parking; Parking on grass surfaces is strictly prohibited. Parking in driveway of the
woodframe is acceptable. Off street parking is available. Additional parking is available at
the Vine Street parking lot.
8. It is the contractors’ option to a flash drive or CD to obtain available AutoCAD drawings.
9. Contractors are encouraged to check the major maintenance website frequently for new and
updated information. Addenda, specifications and additional project work will be posted to
the website as it becomes available.

11. A bond is not required. Builder’s Risk insurance is not required.
12. Insurance Certificate must name Wesleyan University as additional insured.
Location Plan provided at pre-bid conference. Parking locations identified.
Fire Alarm shutdowns to be coordinated with Wesleyan University.

BID PACKAGE #12: 237 Church St.; Shanklin Lab – Perimeter Parapet Repairs / Exterior Painting

Sheet A-13 under Scope of Work, Number 5: For bidding purposes, assume the replacement
of 50 board feet of deteriorated soffit board. Also provide a unit price for soffit board
replacement in the designate space on the bid proposal form.
BID PACKAGE #13: 297 Washington Ter.; CFA F Music Studios – Acoustic Door Installation,
Painting & Carpet Replacement

Provide aluminum perforated panels, 0.020” thick, 1/8” diameter holes on staggered centers,
24” high by wide of acoustic panel. Bend ends to maintain same plane as acoustic panel.
Cover with material specified.
BID PACKAGE #13A: 60 Wyllys Avenue.; CFA A Rehearsal Hall – Acoustic Door Installation &
Painting












Coordinate door installation: door to be supplied and installed by Quietstar
Industries, LLC. Purchased by owner. Existing door shall be removed the same day
the new door is on site and scheduled for installation.
General Contractor to construct dust protection and provide floor protection to cover
path of travel and work area for demolition.
Contractor shall cover and protect all room contents from dust.
This building will be occupied at all times.
Contractor responsible to verify door opening size and conditions..
Provide 1" deep continuous wood nailer x full depth of door frame, both jambs and
header.
Coordinate with details by quietstar industries.
Quietstar industries to set door frame.
Apply 1 coat primer to door and frame. Apply 2 coats finish to new door and frame
(both sides.)
o Do not paint concrete surfaces.
Reference Sherwin Williams paint formula specific to the cfa complex.
Provide and install signage for room 001. Reference signage specification.
Provide final cleaning.

BID PACKAGE #17: 31 McConaughy Dr.; Foss Hill 9-10 Connector – Door Replacement Project


The owner shall carry the cost for services by ISG.
The contractor shall coordinate the schedule for the removal and reinstallation of the electric
strike, wiring and connection to the access pad with the Owner and ISG.
BID PACKAGE #19: 327 High St. – Davison Health Center Window Replacement Project






Contractor to provide all blocking for the complete installation of the new windows in the
Solarium.
Provide new perimeter interior wood stops. Carry costs for Brosco 8090, 8098 and 8099. Six
side prime, fill nail holes and paint.
The folding handle and lock levers for the windows shall be oil rubbed bronze. Contrator
shall provide a credit for manufacturer’s standard bronze.
Exterior color shall be Sierra White.
Wood interior shall be primed and painted.
Screens shall be fiberglass mesh, color: charcoal.
