Professional Development Inservice Program
Workshop presenters are classroom teachers who have received training through the Los
Angeles Writing Project’s Summer Institute and have become Teacher Consultants. Through
carefully planned and integrated presentations, TC’s base their presentations on such
assumptions as: (1) Student writing can be improved by improving the teaching of writing (2)
The best teacher of teachers is another teacher (3) Change can best be accomplished by
those who work in the schools and (4) Classroom practice and research have generated a
substantial body of knowledge on the teaching of writing. Presentations can be tailored to
meet the specific needs of the school and can include such areas as:

LAWP Professional Development Inservice Fees
For after school, half day or whole day sessions with one presenter and a coordinator,
the Los Angeles Writing Project charges $300 per hour.
