Require 60 CSU Units: • Certified completion of the CSU GE or IGETC • 18 + Units in the Major Technical / Occupational training Require 60 units: •18+ units in the major •18 units in general education •3 units Multicultural/Gender Studies •3 units PE/Dance/Health Education 106 Certificate of Achievement-Transfer Studies • Requires completion of the CSU GE or IGETC Catalog Rights Students have two options regarding the requirements for the Associate Degree: 1) Eligibility to graduate under the catalog in effect at the time they petition to graduate, whether or not they maintain continuous enrollment at the college; or 2) Electing to graduate under the catalog in effect during their initial enrollment at Napa Valley College if they maintain continuous enrollment (by taking at least one course each academic year—fall or spring semester) may also elect to graduate under the catalog in effect during initial enrollment at Napa Valley College. Note: Catalog rights do not apply to modifications to entrance requirements for programs (e.g., ADN, Respiratory Therapy, etc.) or program prerequisites. Next Steps… After submitting your application 1. The Admissions and Records Office will be contacting you by email once they have reviewed your petition. This usually happens 8-12 weeks after the deadline to petition. 2. If you have petitioned for an AA-T or AS-T, please note that you will want to submit a Verification Form of your ADT to each admissions office at each CSU to which you applied. A counselor can help you with this form at the time you fill out your graduation petition. ADT verification deadlines: Oct. 30th for Winter applications Oct. 30th for Spring March 15th for Fall 3. For Commencement information, please visit http://www.napavalley.edu/studentservices/Commencement/Pages/welcome.aspx • There is only one commencement ceremony in the spring semester. • You will be invited to participate for the May 2017 ceremony. Next Steps… After submitting your application 4. The actual diploma(s) is/are mailed to graduates upon verification of completion of all requirements. 5. If you believe you are no longer eligible to graduate due to changes in your spring schedule (like having dropped a required class), please send an email to the appropriate A&R staff member listed below so that your petition can be withdrawn. Graduation Petition! 1. Go to the Counseling Webpage 2. Click on Graduation Petition and Checklist (on the right side) 3. Save the petition on a flash drive or desktop 4. Start completing the petition! **Counselor(s) will walk you step-by-step on completing the petition. When finished with your Application… 1. Print 2 copies • One will be for you to submit to the Admissions and Records Office and the other copy will be kept in the counseling office. 2.
