Town hall meeting scheduled for Nacogdoches.
AUSTIN—East Texas citizens will have an opportunity to talk transportation at a town
hall meeting scheduled later this month in Nacogdoches.
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is partnering with the Deep East
Texas Council of Governments (DETCOG) to host the town hall meeting at 6:30 p.m.,
Wednesday, July 22 at the Stephen F. Austin Baker Pattillo Student Center Theater,
222 Vista Drive, Room 2.101.
TxDOT, along with DETCOG and other local transportation representatives, will be
on hand to answer questions and provide information on projects and funding, including
a brief perspective on regional infrastructure requirements for the future.
Citizens are encouraged to attend and participate in an open dialogue with the
agency and local and regional transportation planners.
“This is an excellent opportunity for the citizens of East Texas to provide feedback
on regional transportation needs,” said Amadeo Saenz, TxDOT executive director. “The
information we bring back will be used to shape our discussions on the future of mobility
in Texas.”
TxDOT held three town hall meetings last year in Abilene, Midland/Odessa and
McAllen.
