Class Details






A “Class-Based Subject” can either be “compulsory” or “elective”. Same subject with different MOI will be regarded as different
Electives.
i.e.
History with English as MOI and History with Chinese as MOI are considered as 2 different electives
There are 3 types of subjects: “Class-Based Subjects”, “Cross-Class Subjects” and “Subject Group Subjects”.
All types of subjects attached to a class are regarded as “Class Subjects”
Within a class, a class subject can only belong to one of the subject types.
User can view all class subjects in the “Class Subject Full List”
A hyperlink is provided for user to view the Current “Class Timetable”

Up to 24 assessments can be set for a class level

“Set Cycle Day” function is provided for schools running on cycle-based

After confirmation of school information, changes to Term Information, Class Basic Information, Class-Based
Subject, Group for Cross-Class Subject and Subject Group are not allowed.
If changes are necessary, user must “Reset School Information”.

School and Class document categories must be set up before uploading school and class documents to

“Housekeeping” function allows user to view or delete class documents of ALL classes
Data Communication
After “Planned Subject MOI” has been sent to CDS, a copy of the data file will be kept at Planned Subject MOI > Data Communication File.



Group for Cross-Class Subject function is designed to cater for a greater
diversity of student learning abilities and allows greater flexibility in curriculum
design.

 School offers a Group for Cross-Class Subject named ‘S.1 English’
for S.1 students from Classes 1A, 1B & 1C.
 The Cross-Class Subject of the Group is ‘English Language’.
 Within the Group, there are 3 sub-groups namely, English I,
English II & English III. The students are assigned to study one of the
sub-groups according to their English Language competency.


S.1 English lessons will then be CONCURRENTLY conducted on a group basis
with students from different classes but having similar abilities in English
Language. (Fig.1)

Hint Two: Subject Group

Subject Group function is designed for use by most secondary schools that provide
level-based elective subjects.

