Oral Assessors
Summary
1+1 scheme is introduced in P.3 and P.6
Oral Assessment TSA 2005.
The oral assessment is to be carried out
by one internal and one external oral
assessors.

Summary
Each school is required to nominate two
teachers to carry out the oral assessment
for P.3 and P.6 respectively.
Each Oral assessor will have to work at
his/her own school and in another school.

Assessing Oral skills of P.3 and P.6

Qualifications
Four years teaching experience in
primary English Language
Meet LPAT requirements

Assessment Period
P.3:10 May and 11 May
P.6:24 May and 25 May
If any of the oral assessments for P.3
and P.6 cannot be conducted due to
bad weather, it will be postponed to
12 May and 26 May respectively.

Working Hours
Two working days for each level
Each day, work either session:
AM session:
9:00 am - 12:00 noon
PM session:
2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Working Location
Own school
Another school (assigned by HKEAA)

Allowances
Each external oral assessor will be given
$50 as traveling allowance.
Each school will be given $703
(daily rate of a supply teacher)
for providing each external assessor.

Training
Training session will be held in late
April 2005.
Oral Assessor’s Handbook will be
distributed at the training session.

Remarks
All oral assessors must attend the
training session.
Each oral assessor can carry out
either P.3 or P.6 oral assessment.
The two oral assessors are expected to
act as a reserve in case one of them fails
to perform the duty on the assessment day.
