Half of the laptops in the COWs are broken or end of life. We received a gift/donation to purchase printers. Our PTA and parent technology committee have raised money to purchase technology improvements, like laptops, projectors, and document cameras. We need a part time technology person to deal with issues as they arise. Summary of most recent Campus STaR Chart Data KEY AREA SUMMARY Total Key Area STaR Classification I. A greater number of our teachers are getting more comfortable and confident with the use of technology and their ability to easily integrate it into the core curriculum. Although, our budget still lacks the appropriate amount of funds necessary to supply all our needed technology. Future Vision and Direction In three years, we would have the computer lab updated with at least half new computers and completely wireless internet. We will have a projector with a laptop in every classroom. At least 2 document cameras will be provided per grade level at Zilker. The primary grades will each have an interactive whiteboard to share among their team, and the intermediate grades will each have at least 1 set of classroom remotes to share among their team. All teachers will either have a frequently updated website, blog, or wiki for better electronic communication. The website will be frequently updated with school information and student work. Funding will be Campus Tech Plan 2008-2009 5 of 15 Zilker Elementary Department of Instructional Technology provided through district money and private donation.
