Staff development in basic technology tools is a necessary component of this change. Integration modeling by successful teachers and continual guidance would also create a heightened awareness of the possibilities for integration to take place. Time, location of training, along with frequency of follow-up training needs to reflect convenience for implementation to be successful. Additional professional staff located at Menchaca will benefit facilitation of increases of training, which is desired for the near future. Future Vision and Direction Menchaca has included a part time technology position who assists the campus in troubleshooting, minor maintenance, limited student assistance in the lab and general technology logistics. The plan is to continue the position and increase funding in order to expand the scope of involvement. In addition, we will begin scheduling regular after hours on-site staff training in basic computer skills and procedures. An additional focus will be to reallocate equipment to areas of greatest need and acquisition of much needed hardware. Once staff training begins to take place and access to equipment increases, a plan to target challenge areas of student needs will be implemented. This plan should be visited bi-annually to help remain on target and in order to adjust plan components as necessary.
