Summary of current technology needs on our campus:
We, the educators at Kocurek Elementary, appreciate our technological resources. However, we believe that adding the following
resources to our tech inventory would better serve the students at Kocurek: additional projectors for classroom use would encourage
tech integration at our school. Laptops designated for teacher use could further encourage technology integration, as well as take the
place of EOL Dells formatted with Windows 2000. We have several computers that are declining as they age, and since our last
rollout was concented in grades 2-5, grades pre-k through 1 are daily losing computers and it is affecting valuable time that students
could be utilizing them. It is imperative that the EOL computers get replaced or our student to computer ratio will drastically decline.
Our campus is a split platform campus, and we can’t help but notice the PC’s are outperforming the MACs with SASI, CLASSXP and
INTEGRADE PRO. If this is going to continue to be the case, our EMACS that are currently in place will have to be replaced.

Staff Development Needs
As evidenced by our campus STaR Chart data, we consider ourselves developing in many areas, but most strikingly in Teaching and
Learning and Educator Preparation and Development. At Becker Elementary, we could utilize more educator development focusing
on the successful integration of technology into the core content curriculum areas. If time could be freed up during district staff
development days—especially, if AISD could prioritize technology integration by including and scheduling it during district-wide
staff development time—that could help us emphasize the importance of such integration and, hopefully, meet our campus needs.
Offering stipends for after-school professional development sessions—even those held on campus—concerning technology integration
into the core content areas would also probably prove helpful in increasing educator attendance and, hopefully, technology utilization.
Future Vision and Direction
Kocurek Elementary hopes to improve with better utilization of the following in the next three years:
First, we hope to be successful and/or provide support for utilizing technology systems (e.g., AIMS and District Power,
Gradebook etc.) to access, examine, and analyze data in order to decision-making and planning, in order to better serve all of the
students oat Kocurek.
Next, with tools available, we hope to continue to increase technology into the core-content areas.

The following goals and objectives are from the District Technology Plan. Campuses will focus on four objectives from Goal 1 and
three objectives from Goal 2. The campus focus objectives are shown below in boldface and are marked with a “*”. Campuses may

Goal 1: Teaching and Learning
Teaching & Learning focuses on the instructional needs of teachers and the learning needs of students in meeting the vision of

Educator Preparation and Development addresses the staff development needs not only of teachers but of all the members of the
professional education community.
All educators will:
 develop new learning environments that utilize technology as a flexible tool where learning is collaborative, interactive and
customized.
 ensure integration of appropriate technology throughout all of curriculum and instruction.

Infrastructure for Technology focuses on hardware, software, and tech support personnel. The infrastructure must be secure, stable,
supportable, flexible, scalable and follow common standards in order to grow with new technologies.
The infrastructure will provide:
 measures to ensure all data is secure and accurate.
 data standards to support interoperability and accessibility for all users.
 reliable hardware, software and infrastructure.
 equitable access to computers, systems, and e-learning technologies for all users.
