The ITRC volunteers to support campus technology and we rely on the district technicians to help. While the ITRC is always willing to help teachers with technology, she is also a full time classroom teacher. All technology help is completed in her spare time during her planning time or after school and on weekends. It is very difficult to meet the needs of the campus in a timely manner. Future Vision and Direction In three years, two thirds of our classrooms will be equipped with integrated multimedia systems with document cameras and other interactive tools. Elementary teachers will be comfortable and proficient in the integration of technology across the core content areas. All teachers will use their laptops on a daily basis. Teachers will regularly update their teacher web pages to keep parents and students informed. Every teacher will commit to frequent use of learning.com in particular and district sponsored websites and databases in general. All teachers will access library computer catalog and district library databases in classrooms on a regular basis. Students will investigate the various information sources available online, and learn to choose the most reliable and authoritative ones. The primary grades will focus on basic skills to build a strong technology foundation. Students in grades 3 – 6 will learn to keyboard proficiently. All grade levels will have the opportunity to integrate media into the written word, achieving mastery of this process by the end of 6th grade. The combined efforts of faculty and students will enrich learning and demonstrate technological solutions to real world problems. Campus Improvement Plan Alignment One of our goals this year is for teachers to design a classroom technology plan that implements at least one integrated lesson per 9 weeks. Students will produce at least one technology product per quarter. Our CIP calls for improved student achievement in literacy, math, science, and social studies. The technology integration will include lessons in all subject areas. Our second goal is to have every teacher set up a teacher webpage and update it at least once a quarter. If teachers already have a website or a blog, they will post a link to it on their AISD teacher webpage. This will align with our CIP goal of increasing effective communication with parents and community members. The following goals and objectives are taken from the Austin ISD District Technology Plan. Campuses will focus on four objectives Campus Tech Plan 2009-2010 5 of 11 Pease Elementary Department of Instructional Technology from Goal 1 and four objectives from Goal 2.
