In combination with PTA fundraising and district funding, our current goal is to have one document camera per grade level. We are currently using the updated COWs with the wireless service installed at our campus this year. Classroom computers are in need of updating and replacement as they begin to expire. We would like to continue to seek out a typing program that is applicable to all our age groups. We are currently using bbc.co.uk/schools/typing for the younger group and customtyping.com for the older grade levels. The ITRC and other teachers volunteer to support campus technology and we rely on the district techs to help. Campus Improvement Plan Alignment We are implementing a campus website in the following year. Our goals is to have all staff members become familiar with it and support their usage of the website to communicate with our community. In the next few years we would like to build our campus’s use of blogs, wikis, and teacher websites to bridge our learning with our community to other learning communities. Our teachers will learn to set up their AISD teacher webpage and update it at least one a semester. If they already have a website or a blog, they will post a link to it on their AISD teacher webpage. This will align with our CIP goal of increasing effective communication with parents and community members. Future Vision and Direction All staff received new laptops this year. Therefore, initial staff development will focus on making sure all teachers are proficient in its use. We also worked with PTA and district funding to meet our goal of one projector and one document camera for each grade level. We will need to hold staff development sessions in order to familiarize teachers on the use of new technologies including digital projectors and document cameras. We also need to focus staff development towards integrating technology projects into the curriculum. This could come in the form of GT projects using research skills or other presentation projects using PowerPoint, spread sheets, Inspiration, Brainpop, United Streaming, Comic Life, etc. Future Vision and Direction We have a campus goal of increasing instruction and rigor in academic vocabulary. We will be looking to see how we can incorporate a Technology aspect to this goal. We also continue to focus on integrating writing across the curriculum, science and supporting emerging and struggling readers, and increasing mathematical fluency. We will work toward seeking out software and online applications that could be used to support instruction in these areas. We will use programs adopted by the district like envision math technology to support our programs.
