The ITRC has volunteered his time to the staff to answer questions and fix minor issues related to technology. Major technology concerns have been handled through standard work orders. We have purchased a half-day of planning for the ITRC to address campus needs but that does not come close to the overall campus needs. Our PTA helps support technology through a monetary donation and this year it was $450. A lack of consistent technology help and direction does not positively impact our use of technology at Boone. Future Vision and Direction Three years from now at Boone, you will see teachers using their laptops on a regular basis to collaborate, create and communicate. Teachers will regularly use their teacher web site and other online tools to keep parents and students informed. Parents will regularly access the online grade book and other resources for information about their child. Teachers will regularly use the technology resources in their classroom during instruction to support learning. Our students will demonstrate a positive increase on their technology benchmarks as the result of regular use of technology in the classroom and computer lab. Campus Improvement Plan Alignment One of our goals this year is for teachers to implement at least one integrated lesson in the fall and one in the spring. Our CIP calls for a 10% improvement of our commended math and science scores. The technology integration lesson will include elements of math and/or science in the fall. Our teachers will learn to set up their AISD teacher webpage and update it at least one a semester. If they already have a website, they will post a link to it on their AISD teacher webpage. This will align with our CIP goal of increasing effective communication with parents and community members.
