Andrews Elementary Department of Instructional Technology Andrews Elementary Instructional Technology Implementation Plan 2009-2010 The Campus Technology Committee has developed this Technology Plan. It is aligned with the Austin ISD Technology Plan and the State Long Range Plan for Technology and our Campus Improvement Plan. The strategies focus on goals and objectives related to Teaching and Learning and Educator Staff Development specifically related to the use of technology. Andrews Instructional Technology Implementation Plan 2009-2010 The following staff participated in the development of this Technology Plan: Staci Golman Azgad Crisostomo Diana Coy Kelli Komiss Campus Tech Plan 2009-2010 1 of 11 Andrews Elementary Department of Instructional Technology Karen Sandoval Luisa Hernandez Michelle Crayton Saleem Blevins Principal and ITRC Signatures. The ITRC and other staff volunteer on the Technology Committee to support campus technology. We also rely on our district tech to help out. Future Vision and Direction Three years from now at Andrews, you will see teachers using their laptops on a regular basis to collaborate, create, assess students, and communicate. Teachers will regularly use their teacher web site and other online tools to keep parents and students informed. Parents will regularly access the online gradebook and other resources for information about their child. Classrooms will have integrated multimedia systems with document cameras and other interactive tools. All curriculum resources will be available online. Andrews would like to have teachers fully trained in technology and applications that they can use to enhance instruction. This includes the use of the district-funded databases for research, the use of online resources to enhance student understanding of concepts, and the use of applications such as KidSpiration, PowerPoint, and Animoto to improve their writing and presentation skills. We would like to see enough presentation hardware (digital cameras, video projectors, laptops, video cameras, etc.) for teachers to routinely and seamlessly use these technologies as part of daily instruction. We would like to be able to evaluate software and access it in web-based forms to enhance the learning of students with applications that are more than worksheet on a screen. The Star Chart Profile indicates our school is at the developing tech level on the scale, but that student mastery is limited. The profile indicates that the areas of focus are enhancing teachers’ ability to access the technology provided by the district and also providing the training needed to be able to feel comfortable in using these technology applications. We also need to focus on the student technology literacy skills Campus Improvement Plan Alignment One of our goals this year is for students to score 25% higher on the TechLiteracy Assessment. We want our teachers to increase the use of technology in their classroom as well as students using technology to learn and teach others.
