Ex. (4): Writing Skills
1) Complete the followings:
1) Your writing skills develop whilst at university, what else can be improving?
 -----------Spelling------------------------------------------- ------------Vocabulary--------------------------------------2) If you give yourself enough time to write up your work so that you are not
always rushing to meet deadlines. Your writing will be easier.
3) Your writing will be easier, if you break writing tasks down into several
stages with their own deadlines. This is easier than trying to write the perfect
essay or report first time.
4) To define your task in writing, think through:
a. Why was this particular title or assignment set?
b. What are your teachers expecting that you will research?
c. What …issues……do they intend you to cover?
d. What theorie, research and evidences do they expect you to refer to?
e. What recent …research article have been published on this subject?
f. What …methodologies are your teachers expecting you to use to
demonstrate that you understand how to apply these?
5) In planning your assignment task, use the word limit. and the assignment
title to guide you in how much you need to read of each book and article
recommended.
6) After you finish your writing, print out and read aloud – to look for typing
errors and other mistakes…: (grammar, spelling, etc.) and correct these.
You are required to submit an answer model of this exercise on the next Lecture.
