Children can write their own funny tales by picking a title and filling in the blanks with nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc. The tales are geared for grade 3 and up. The tales are a fun way to reinforce the parts of speech and reading for fluency. 2. www.jimdesigns.com – This site has handwriting worksheets that can be downloaded free. What I like best about it is the pencil animation that shows how to form the letters. Kids can “skywrite” on the screen with the pencil to get the “feel” of how the letter is formed. It has upper and lowercase letters in both cursive and print. The site also links to other locations. 3. www.gophonics.com – Go Phonics® is a fun, interactive phonics curriculum with K-2 language arts, for teaching beginning reading skills. It features 48 phonics games, workbooks, and decodable story books. It’s based on, and compatible with, the Orton-Gillingham method for providing systematic and explicit, simultaneous multi-sensory phonics instruction.
