Discuss College guidelines/rules regarding certificates. Glosser called. Olson mentioned that the Committee had tabled the proposal from marketing regarding certificates. Had discussion in different departments. It was taken back to Curriculum Committee and had to decide how to deal with certificates. We need to make a policy statement, identify who the targets are, talk about the concerns, the benefits, why offer the certificates, etc. Certificates are offered from Marketing, IT, and other depts. We will have to make sure to align with AACSB policies. No set number of credit hour for certificates, but it requires lower credits than a minor, but higher than an emphasis. Concerns of double-counting between major, minor, etc. Open to all majors, including business but no overlap. It doesn’t show up in the student transcripts, but just shows up a certificate. How it would impact the demand for minors. How it might help students’ marketability for the job market… Boostrom moved. 3. Definition of “entrepreneurial leadership” Entrepreneurial leadership is leading a group of people to manage change in a dynamic environment. 4. Other business Moved by Boostrom.
