MEMORANDUM DATE: September 13, 2002 TO: Monroe Community College Faculty and Staff FROM: Shirley Batistta-Provost, Assistant Director, Student Center SUBJECT: ADVISORS WANTED The Student Association has always appreciated and valued the involvement Advisors bring to the Co-curricular Program at MCC. We have called on Advisors to help us assess the quality and effectiveness of the campus experience being provided to students. As more and more students are expressing interest in receiving hands-on learning experiences out of the classroom, we find that Advisors play a vital role in the student’s development process and you can take pride in helping develop tomorrow’s leaders. No other campus activity provides a better opportunity for faculty/staff members to participate in the total education of our students, along with experiencing the rewards from serving in this role. Please take a moment to consider becoming an Advisor to one of our student organizations on campus. If you are interested, please complete the enclosed survey and return it to me at your earliest convenience. I have also enclosed a list of current clubs and organizations that are presently without Advisors. If you are interested in one of these organizations, please let me know. Your name will be forwarded to the student. I in turn will contact you for a meeting with myself and the students. In some cases interviews will be conducted. As always, the Student Center values the time you commit to student success. You can send responses to or (if you are outside of MCC) E-mail me at: Shirley Batistta-Provost, Assistant Director Student Center Building 2 library room 406 sprovost@monroecc.edu Thank you AD DV VIIS SO OR R IN NT TE ER RE ES ST T SU UR RV VE EY Y NAME___________________________________________________________________ DEPARTMENT______________________________________________________________ POSITION________________________________________________________________ OFFICE HOURS/DAYS________________________________ PHONE EXTENSION___________ I AM INTERESTED IN ADVISING THE FOLLOWING TYPE(S) OF STUDENT CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS: PLEASE CHECK Honorarium & recognition societies Professional and/or department clubs Ethnic club/organization Religious club/organization Sports type club Publication type club/organization International club/organization Social Political Club I would like additional information (comments) Currently the following clubs/organizations are looking for an advisor(s).
