Resolutions for May 08 Senate Meeting: Resolution to Approve funds to Black Student Union Whereas the Brighton Campus Student Government Association is charged with the promotion of the general welfare on campus, and to provide programs of educational value, be it Resolved, that the Brighton Campus Student Government Association Senate approve the Engineering Leadership Council request for funds in the amount of $950. Resolution to Approve funds to Elizabeth Maria student of Global Union Whereas the Brighton Campus Student Government Association is charged with the promotion of the general welfare on campus, and to provide programs of educational value, be it Resolved, that the Brighton Campus Student Government Association Senate approve funds to Global Union International Student Association member Elizabeth Maria in the amount of $1300. Resolution to Approve funds to Engineering Leadership Council Whereas the Brighton Campus Student Government Association is charged with the promotion of the general welfare on campus, and to provide programs of educational value, be it Resolved, that the Brighton Campus Student Government Association Senate approve the fund request from Engineering Leadership Council for the amount of $2000. Resolution to Recognize the Monroe Community College Engineering Design Team Whereas Monroe Community College’s Engineering Design Teams have strived to become a top national competitor, be it Resolved, that the Brighton Campus Student Government Association recognize the accomplishments of the Engineering Leadership Council, and furthermore, be it Resolved, that the Brighton Campus Student Government Association recognize the accomplishments of team Der Zerstorer (Tony Perrone, Josh Locke, Christine Pascino, and Shawn Herrmann) for placing First at the TYESA competition, and furthermore, be it Resolved, that the Brighton Campus Student Government Association recognize the accomplishments of team Golden Goodness (Chris Mieney, Peter Nice, Jon Gunn, Ryan Clarke, and Bill Spath) for placing Second at the TYESA competition, and furthermore, be it Resolved, that the Brighton Campus Student Government Association recognize the accomplishments of team Creative Breakdown (Thomas Swartz, Matt Bradt, Jessica Regan, and Eric Lefler) for placing Fourth at the TYESA competition, and furthermore, be it Resolved, that the Brighton Campus Student Government Association recognize the accomplishments of team Inferno (Brendan Fitzgerald, Craig Jeffers, Adam Schmitt, and Brian Cario) for placing Fifth at the TYESA competition, and furthermore, be it Resolved, that the Brighton Campus Student Government Association recognize the accomplishments of team Aloha (Ken Hertzog, Justin Ackerman, Chris Lukasiewicz, and Eric Knaak) for placing Seventh at the TYESA competition, and furthermore, be it Resolved, that the Brighton Campus Student Government Association recognize Professor John Wadach for his hard work and dedication to the Engineering Design Teams. Resolution to recognize Clenita Thomas Whereas, Student leaders who display outstanding qualities of leadership, dedication, involvement, and commitment to the betterment of the Student Association should be recognized for their accomplishments, Whereas, Clenita Thomas has served the Student Association as a Student Government Association Senator, Vice President, President and as a Peer Mentor during her time at Monroe Community College, Whereas, Clenita Thomas, outside of her involvement in the Student Government, has continued to be a resource for the Student Body serving the needs of the students, be it Resolved, that the Student Government Association recognize the contributions Clenita Thomas has made to the Monroe Community College Student Association beyond the normal commitment by members of the Student Government Association, furthermore be it, Resolved, we, the Brighton Campus Student Government Association, recognize and bestow the honorary title of President Emeritus of the Brighton Campus Student Government Association to Clenita Thomas. Resolution to approve the 2008 Student Association 2008 Fiscal Budget Whereas, the Brighton Campus Student Government Association shall formulate and approve the annual budget for the Monroe Community College Student Association, be it Resolved, that the Brighton Campus Student Government Association approve the Student Association Budget for the 2008 fiscal year.
