Any student who completes a core curriculum at another Texas public institution does not have to complete the TWU core (state rule). 2. Any block/ content area of the core which is completed at another institution transfers in as completing that block at TWU. (state rule) 3. Not all state institutions now mark students’ transcripts core complete even if the student has completed it. A student may request a letter from the institution certifying that she/he is core complete. If done, attach a copy of the letter to the student’s academic record and/or DARS degree audit, kept internally in the academic unit. Letters should be forwarded to the Office of Student Records to be posted on the TWU transcript. The Registrar’s Office will adjust DARS to reflect core complete. 4. If a transcript is not marked core complete, analysis of courses taken at the sending institution could show core completion using this form. 5. Core curricula for state institutions are available online to assist us in determining if a student is core complete at http://statecore.its.txstate.edu/. Institutions may also make available course catalog and core curriculum provisions at their respective websites. 6. If a student is found to be core complete at another institution although it is not shown on their transcript, send this form and link to or copy of the core at the sending institution to the Registrar’s office to get core completion recorded on the student’s record. The Registrar’s Office will update DARS to accurately reflect the current status. 2 of 2 Texas Woman’s University – Undergraduate Studies & Academic Partnerships March 2014
