Store as much as possible. • Your body needs more water when it’s under stress. Why would I want to run inside? Be Red Cross Ready Things to Keep in Mind! • During an earthquake, get underneath a table and hold on or go to an inside corner and cover your head. Don’t stand in a doorway. • Avoid injuries AFTER the earthquake: Protect your hands & feet. Beware of aftershocks. • Large-scale disasters may render cell phones and the internet useless. Texting may be your best option for communicating with someone out of the area. • Transportation disruptions may prevent you from leaving. • Plan to take care of yourself for at least 3 days but it is recommended you have enough supplies for 7 days. Know two ways out in case your exit is blocked! Feel the door with the back of your hand before opening it.
