The Effects of a Sensory Integration Program on Preschool Students With Language Disorders Sara Herweck May 2002 The purpose of this study was to determine if a sensory integration program would affect the everyday behaviors of preschool aged students who have language disorders. A questionnaire was given to the caregivers of four preschool students who have language disorders. The questionnaire rated everyday behaviors that are related to sensory processing. The questionnaire was given both as a pre and post test. The sensory integration program was provided for a six-week period. There were no significant shifts in the ratings from the pre to the post test. The findings suggest that a six-week program has no effect on the behaviors of preschool aged children with language disorders.
