Design Guidelines and Standards Manual University of Cincinnati SECTION 00200D - GEOTECHNICAL DATA A. HISTORICAL DATA ON SOIL BORINGS: The H.C. Nutting Company has performed soil borings throughout the campus and maintains records of data. The H.C. Nutting Company should be contacted and their records reviewed prior to having new soil borings made. B. The University has survey drawings of the Campus. These are available for review, upon request. These can be requested from the University Project Manager. If additional survey work is needed the University will arrange and pay for. C. ASSOCIATE'S RESPONSIBILITIES: The Associate shall request site and/or subsurface investigations judged necessary for the project in accordance with the Associate’s Agreement for Professional Services. This will include investigative work, reviewing surveyor reports, soils reports (including load bearing capabilities) and related site analysis. Submit two copies of any site investigative reports to the University Project Manager. D. PREPARATION OF PLANS FOR BORINGS: Geotechnical Engineer shall check with the University Project Manager and The Ohio Utilities Protection Services (OUPS), The Registered Underground Utilities Protection Service (800-362-2764) to identify and locate known utilities on public property in the construction area. E. INFORMATION TO BE INCLUDED IN BIDDING DOCUMENTS: Show all soil boring locations, cross sections and soil conditions, existing conduits, drains, utility lines, sewers, tunnels, cables, trees, paving, walks, foundations and other objects or obstructions, whether in use or abandoned. State that information is made available for contractor’s use, and that the University is not responsible for accuracy of the information. END GEOTECHNICAL DATA 00200D-1 9/16/96
