A Summary of the Appeals Procedures for Publication to Students

If you believe you have grounds to appeal against a decision of the Faculty Research Degrees Subcommittee (or First

Supervisor where candidates are appealing against the lack of approval by their First Supervisor to permit submission of their thesis for examination) you should initially consult the Students' Union. If, after those consultations, you still wish to submit a formal appeal, you should obtain the appropriate form from http://web.anglia.ac.uk/anet/rdcs/research/support/documents_forms/forms.phtml

There are two grounds on which you may appeal against a decision. These are:

If you believe your performance was adversely affected by 'factors' which you were unable or unwilling, on valid grounds, to divulge before the decision was made.

If there was a material administrative error, or the assessment was not conducted according to the Regulations.

Lodge appeal with Director of Academic Office (or nominee) within 25 working days of date of notification of the decision being sent to the candidate using the official form. Senior Academic Office staff review the appeal and determine whether initial criteria are satisfied
